Africa Salutes You

A collection of 33 artworks entitled ‘Africa Salutes You’, inspired by Africa’s first Football World Cup, has become a beacon of hope for the people of Mvezo.

The artwork is marked by HRH Chief Nkosi Zwelivelile Mandela, endorsed in signature by Nelson Mandela, completed by the children of Mvezo and embraced by the world.

Mvezo Inspiration

'Mvezo (Mandela's birthplace)', wrote Nelson Mandela in Long Walk to Freedom, 'was a place apart. A tiny precinct removed from the world of great events, where life was lived much as it had been for hundreds of years'.

Inspired by the people and the beauty of Mvezo, South African artist Athol Moult created the artwork collection.

Supported by Mandela, this upliftment initiative helps fund Mvezo development projects.
